As an affordable and accessible means of communication, many people have realised that mobile phones are no longer just communication tools but those that are capable of providing additional integrated functions. In January 2012 we engaged our Facebook fans and Twitter followers with an intriguing question:

“Mobile phones are no longer a luxury item and have become a ubiquitous and essential part of our lives, radically changing the way we interact & communicate.

WHAT DO YOU USE YOUR MOBILE PHONE FOR OTHER THAN MAKING CALLS?

We would like to know.”

And this was the amazing feedback that we received:

From all the feedback gathered, it is evident that texting is very important to many mobile phone users and it’s for this reason that Text to change aims at improving access to information in a cost effective way through providing and sharing quality information especially by the Short Message Service (SMS).
