Text to Change (TTC) is a non-profit organisation and was founded in 2007. TTC uses sophisticated mobile phone technology to send out and receive information on health, education, economic development and transparency. TTC's pioneering model is based on interactive and incentive based SMS programmes. Our devoted team consists of the following people:

 

Bas HoefmanFounder/ Director Africa, Uganda
Bas has over 6 years of marketing and advertising experience in the banking sector. Bas lives in Uganda and works on the current TTC programs from the office in Kampala.
Hajo van BeijmaFounder/Partnership Director, The Netherlands
Hajo has been working in the ICT field in Europe and Africa for over 10 years. Hajo works on new programs/partnerships and heads the finance department.
Jan-Willem LoggersProgramme Manager, Uganda
Jan-Willem studied Economics and Marketing at Tilburg University. His main duties are setting up and managing programs in Africa and South America. Before joining Text to Change, Jan-Willem worked as import/export manager at an international trading company in Barcelona, Spain.
Josette de VroegCommunications Manager, The Netherlands
Josette worked in the corporate sector for a few years, after that she worked at IDFA as an education specialist. Now she has found her dream job as Communications Manager at Text to Change. Josette is constantly looking for new opportunities for Text to Change, aiming to promote their goals and achievements worldwide and explore possibilities for suitable new partnerships.
Phillip Sparks SentamuProgramme Manager, Uganda
Sparks works as a HIV/AIDS specialist on the TTC programs from Kampala. He worked for the US government and mobile providers in Uganda.
Jennifer AlumAdministration, Uganda
Jennifer Alum joined the Text to Change team in Kampala early 2010 as an Administrative Assistant. Before that she worked for an NGO in Uganda called Voluntary Action for Development as a project coordinator of the Water Hygiene and Sanitation Project funded by a Swiss NGO called Nouvelle Planete. Jennifer holds a BA in Development Studies from Makerere.
Roos HarteveldBookkeeper, The Netherlands
Roos joined the TTC team early 2010. She works parttime from the Amsterdam office and is in charge of the bookkeeping and other administrative affairs of the Netherlands as well as Uganda. Roos has a bachelor in Dutch Law.
Anne de LeppermHealth researcher, The Netherlands
Anne is a medical student from the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands. While expecting to graduate at the end of 2012, she now combines her medical internships with mHealth research. Since June 2010, Anne and the KIT (Royal Tropical Institute) have been evaluating the efficacy of three of TTC’s projects in Uganda. The focal point herein is the use, efficacy and benefits of SMS programs in preventive healthcare.
Marcus WagenaarTechnical Officer, Uganda
Marcus Wagenaar is our technical officer and has a background in computer science. As such he is responsible for all technical systems at Text to Change. Due to the innovative nature of Text to Change he is continuously looking for new ways of using mobile and internet technology for positive change.
Lisa HarteveldProject Manager, The Netherlands
Lisa has studied Public International Law, Business, and Conflict Studies and Human Rights. She lived in South Africa twice and worked in the human rights sector before joining Text to Change. Lisa works on project, reporting and legal issues.
Eunice NamirembeProgramme Manager, Uganda
As a Programme Manager Eunice's responsbilities include coordinating and managing programs and projects. Prior to joining TTC she worked as monitoring and evaluation coordinator and consultant at I-Network Uganda for 6 years, where she implemented and managed a number of successful ICT for Development projects.
Joshua KayiwaData Analyst, Uganda
Joshua works as a freelance data analyst. He has 10 years of experience in the field of data analysis in London and Kampala, Uganda.
Katherine Bustos RodasSOP Specialist, The Netherlands
Katherine is currently studying at the NBS Amsterdam, Nyerode university bachelor and creating the SOP and Business plan for TTC. She has past experience on creating SOP documents in Africa. Katherine has diverse background experience in the corporate and developing world.
Maureen Agena Programme Manager, Uganda
Maureen graduated with a Bsc (Honours) in Information Technology and currently pursuing an MSc in Information Systems. She was an intern for the ICT and Innovation programme at the Technical Centre of Agriculture and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA) in the Netherlands. Maureen is passionate about using ICTs for development (ICT4D) as well as mobile technology to create positive social change.
Maarten KuiperIntern Concept Development, the Netherlands
Maarten recently finished his master's degree in Military History at the University of Amsterdam, and has joined Text to Change as an intern in august 2011. Still working as a product developer in the field of employee- and customer satisfaction surveys, at Text to Change Maarten focusses mainly on visualization and reporting of the acquired data.
Sandra Chávez AguilarTechnical Officer, Bolivia
Sandra studied computer engineering in Bolivia. She has worked in various system-development projects. For a few years she has been working in online consulting, focusing on ICT for women who suffer violence and motivational text messaging. Now Sandra is responsible for the administration of the TTC platform in Bolivia and Peru.
Gitta van der MeerFinancial & Legal Manager, The Netherlands
Gitta joined Text to Change in December 2011 as Financial & Legal Manager, after having spent over 5 years working as a lawyer specialized in innovations in a commercial and international setting. Passionate about travel, she has visited many countries all over the world. At Text to Change, she is responsible for financial reporting, compliance issues, as well as internal and external procedures.
Floor MontanusBusiness Consultant, The Netherlands
Floor has over four years work experience as a consultant in the market research industry. She's now writing a business plan for an African incentive based research center. By being in close contact with their clients and the people they want to reach, companies and NGO’s are offered the ability to anticipate on changes in the market and to evolve as an organisation.
