Programme Areas

TTC has developed a well designed flexible mobile phone platform that is able to use sms, mms, voice and data for spreading and collecting information. The TTC platform is perfectly suited for carrying out health, economic development, education and accountability programs. Because of the brilliance and the simplicity of this concept TTC implements a wide variety of programmes and TTC uses this platform to support its partners worldwide.

Health
TTC mainly uses short message service (SMS) communication to assess mobile phone users on their health knowledge, refer them to testing facilities, prevention and treatment clinics, and provide information on services in local areas.TTC aims at creating awareness, generating an uptake in health services and collecting data by using mobile telephones. We also implement programmes with health workers, in order for them to be informed and assisted better. Working with a wide range of local and international partners, our healthcare campaigns focus principally on HIV/AIDS, malaria, TB, and reproductive and maternal health. The subjects of our programme vary from family planning,  medicine adherence and PMTCT,, to prevention of drug stock outs and mobilising health services.

Economic development
The TTC system establishes an efficient way of structuring information for economic development purposes via the use of mobile phones. This mobile phone based system adds value by scaling current economic initiatives and creating an interactive approach towards citizens in need of better information. Examples are programmes in the area of mobile money, price information for farmers, private sector engagement, financial awareness campaigns and economic impact studies. Our programmes stimulate economic empowerment and the creation of wealth for individuals, their families and the wider communities in which they live and work.

Education
TTC's platform is able to contribute to an improvement the quality of educational systems in developing countries. Teachers' competences and knowledge can this way be increased and teacher absenteeism can be addressed. Students as well are able to learn more and develop more skills to succeed in life by mobile learning programmes, student empowerment and increased access to information.

Accountability
Mobile phones are an effective tool to address issues of public accountability. Programmes in this area reduce corruption of all kinds and help reaching to a state of good governance. These programmes empower people by enabling them to signal and raise issues via their mobile phones. More awareness on such problems related to accountability is also created by these interventions. TTC’s current programmes deal with drug prices, child trafficking and governance structures.
